Writing is just feeling on paper
Essays and watercolors on sensation, imagination, presence, and all the messy ways I am coming to terms with being human, coming back to my body, and feeling my way forward as I follow my own Pleasure Compass.

Pleasure vs Stimulation
Stimulation keeps getting mistaken for pleasure — but they are not the same thing. Ella maps the difference: overwhelm, the protection of numbness, and why both total quiet and a roaring concert can be pleasure, depending on where you are.
02Your Story
Begin where you are.
Pleasure is more than just feeling good at random. It is a practice of crafting your life, expressing your hidden gifts, and receiving richly in return. Pleasure is accessible everywhere. It is inclusive. It is life-force waking up inside you. It is tugging you towards the good that you are uniquely able to bring to the world. I want to be in the world that your pleasure creates and I know you will enjoy it too. Find your own Pleasure Compass in the Pleasure Academy.

Make Your Own Pleasure Box Journal
Writing out your feelings can be daunting especially for digital natives, which is why I want to put Day One on your radar. Pretty, accessible, and private, the Day One journaling app is my go-to for notes, venting, drafting, and a lot of other things. You can use pictures, record audio, and create templates to catalyze your journaling practice. If you have the app already or get it soon, I made this Pleasure Box template to cheer you on as you practice your pleasure in writing.
My Pleasure Box
Instructions: write down the first things that comes to mind. There are no right answers. Skip any prompts that don’t feel relevant, linger over any that are calling to you.
